Defending champions the Dragons made it two wins from two as they chased down 176 to beat the Scorchers by seven wickets with an over to spare in the T20 Trophy at Bready. Gaby Lewis hit 12 fours and a six in a 43-ball 71, adding 91 in ten overs for the second wicket with Eimear Richardson (32). Their total of 175 for six was given a late impetus injection from Sophie MacMahon, who thumped four boundaries and two maximums in a 13-ball 33. Alana Dalzell and Ella Marsh each collected two wickets. Bella Armstrong (23) added 49 for the opening wicket with the prolific Amy Hunter, but it was the second wicket partnership of 102 in ten overs between the Belfast 19-year-old and fellow international Orla Prendergast that was the match-defining one. Hunter top-scored with a 44-ball 64 that included nine boundaries - five of them consecutively off Louise Little in an over that changed the complexion of the game. Prendergast also hit nine fours in a 34-ball 53, before both fell in quick succession. 26 were needed off 21 balls when Abbi Harrison (12*) was joined by Arlene Kelly (10*), with the pair ensuring victory with six balls to spare.

Amy Hunter was in the runs yet again as the Dragons started their quest for a cup double with a ten-run win over the Typhoons at Bready in a contest reduced to 15 overs. The Belfast teenager hit 14 fours and a six in an unbeaten 94, sharing an unbroken third wicket stand of 132 with Waringstown's Abbi Harrison (31*), helping the hosts recover from 6 for 2 to post 138 for two. Alana Dalzell struck two early blows in the chase, and despite the best efforts of Laura Delany who made a 33-ball unbeaten 57 (6 fours, 2 sixes) they fell ten short. Leah Paul made a breezy 31 as she and Delany added 68 for the fourth wicket.

The Typhoons were blown away at Bready in the afternoon game in a one-sided contest. Laura Delany's 30 was the best of a modest 118 for seven, while Annabel Squires (25*) and Zara Craig (22) added 43 for the seventh wicket. Sophie MacMahon and Ava Canning were the pick of the bowlers with two wickets apiece. The chase was effectively over inside the powerplay as Gaby Lewis (33) and Louise Little (32) set about the bowlers. Eimear Richardson (28*) continued the assault as the eight wicket win was sealed with almost eight overs to spare.

BELLA Armstrong and Rebecca Lowe’s record partnership led the Dragons to a seven wicket win in the Super Series50 interpro at Lisburn. The pair shared a third wicket stand of 221 as they easily chased down what looked like a challenging 275 target set by the Scorchers. Armstrong top-scored with a 120-ball 154 that included 22 fours and two maximums, while Irish Under-19 international Lowe, playing at her home club, hit nine fours in a splendid 88. Earlier, Louise Little had made 106, while Ireland captain Gaby Lewis scored 63. Little shared a century stand with Ava canning (30*), but they fell away losing four wickets for ten runs with Waringstown leg-spinner Cara Murray taking a five-wickets haul. Alice Tector was unable to resume her innings, having retired hurt on 35. The win gives the Dragons their first points of the campaign.
Scorchers beat Typhoons by 125 runs.
