Leinster chased down a revised target of 158 with an solid batting effort at Rush. Tom Johnson (33) and Monil Patel (24) shared a second wicket stand of 55, while Mark Tonge applied the coupe de grace as he thumped six fours in a 21-ball unbeaten 30 to seal the four wicket win. Four wickets apiece from Ben Mitchell and Saqib Bahadhur had kept Rush to 167 - runs for Sadaat Gull (31), Abidullah Taniwal (29), Nasir Totakhil (28) and Jack McGee (25).

The Hills beat North County by 59 runs.

The Hills won Fingal bragging rights with a 59-run win over North County at The Vineyard. Matthew Weldon was the star of the show as the youngster showed his quality in an even time 93 that included 10 fours and two sixes. Oliver Horlock dropped anchor with his 38, while Andrew Kavanagh also made 38 in a total of 223 - three wickets for Eddie Richardson and two apiece for Hunter Kindley and Brandon Morris. Sean McNicholl (3-20) and Shazid Ahmed made early inroads and at 34 for five it seemed game over. Alan Mathew (42) and Jamie Grassi staged a recovery with a sixth wicket stand of 77, but two wickets apiece for Muzamil Sherzad and Febin Manoj sealed their fate.

Railway Union lost to Phoenix by 6 wickets (DLS).
Park Avenue, 22 June.



Eknoor Singh was the Phoenix match winner at Park Avenue, hitting 9 fours and 4 sixes in a 63-ball unbeaten 91 as they overcame a wobbly start to chase down their 164 in 26 overs target with 13 balls to spare. Tyrone Kane (20) and skipper Adam Chester (15*) chipped in, while Amish Sidhu hastened proceedings to a quick conclusion by thumping his first three balls to the boundary. It was left-arm spinner Sidhu who was the pick of the attack with three wickets, as Railway collapsed from a strong start given by Ashil Prakash (58) and Hedayat Khogiani, slipping from 86 for 1 to 156 for 9 in a game where the rain was never too far away.

Balbriggan beat Malahide by 93 runs (DLS).

Balbriggan turned in an impressive all-round display as they beat Malahide by 93 runs (DLS) at the Jack Harper Ground. Connor Fletcher top-scored with a biundary laden 58 (4 fours, 4 sixes), while there were runs too for Farooq Nasr (33), Greg Ford (26) and also Dylan Lues who made 44 in their 242 for seven. Lues then turned his hand to spin, claiming four wickets, while Matthew Hollard continues to impress - 'the best fast bowler in the country' - one veteran's opinion, as he made early inroads with 3 for 29. Jeremy Martins' 39 the best of a one-sided game as Malahide were bowled out for 140.

Merrion lost to Clontarf by 25 runs (DLS).
Anglesea Road, 22 June.



Clontarf once again got one over on Merrion in a high scoring affair at Anglesea Road despite an abbreviated match. Mitchell Thompson's unbeaten 109 (10 fours, 3 sixes) in a match defining second wicket stand of 184 with Eoghan Delany was the catalyst for the victory. Delany impressed with a hard-hit 59-ball 86 (4 fours, 5 sixes), while the runs continued to flow as John McNally cleared the ropes three times in his 34. Facing a revised target of 294 in 31 overs, Merrion raced out of the blocks with Stephen Doheny making a 31-ball 62 (% fours, 4 sixes), but scoreboard pressure told as the required rate kept climbing. Jamie Forbes hit a rapid 49 and Adam Rosslee 38 to het the hosts close, but Clontarf had 25 runs to spare. Cillian McDonnell and Reuben Wilson were among the wickets, while skipper David Delany (1-46) also helped keep Merrion in check.

Pembroke beat Cork County by 7 wickets (DLS).

Gavin Hoey made an unbeaten 52 (5 fours, 1 six) adding an unbroken 97 for the fourth wicket with Jack Tector (35*) as Pembroke chased down their 164 in 33 overs target with 26 balls to spare. Blake McDonald (35) and JJ Garth (26) had earlier put on 61 for the second wicket after the early fall of Tim Tector. Brian Upman's 54-ball 70 (5 fours, 5 sixes) was by far Cork County's best effort, while skipper Paul Lawson and Daniel Murray each took three wickets. Hoey also took two scalps in a fine all-round display by the Irish international.

Round 2: Railway Union beat Dublin University by 8 wickets

Railway Union reached the semi-final of the Leinster Senior Cup with a bloodless 8-wicket win over Dublin University at Park Avenue. Macdara's Cosgrave 40 was the best of a disappointing total of 134 - three wickets apiece for Liam McCarthy and Mark Canliffe, plus two for Hamza Maan. The chase was over inside 19 over swith Hedayat Khogiani making 40 and Rob O'Brien 34.

Leinster lost to Merrion by 21 runs

A fourth wicket stand of 82 between Isobel Joyce (41) and Isabel Light (34) helped Merrion to 154 for 4 against Leinster. The Rathmines side looked on course to win as they raced to 65 for 1 in the seventh over, but despite young Australian's Karina Bell's 72 (10 fours), they ended 21 runs shy on 133 for six - two wickets for Ashwi Manoj.

The Hills tied with Malahide
The Vineyard, 21 June.


The Hills and Malahide shared the spoils with an exciting tie. Tahlia Dunne hit 6 fours and a six in a 35-ball 54, sharing an opening stand of 101 in 10 overs with Irish international Aimee Maguire (32). However, they were bowled out as just 36 runs came in the second half of the innings, with four wickets for Anna Kerrison and two for Sorcha O'Carolan Murphy. O'Carolan Murphy (47) and Sara Condron (39) shared a third wicket century partnership, but still four were needed from the final ball of the game for the tie, and Anna Kerrison duly dispatched Tahlia Dunne.

The Hills beat Rush by 92 runs
The Vineyard, 21 June.


A first century for Jane Maguire (102*) who shared a century stand with Abbi Harrison (63) powered The Hills to 211 for 2 - both wickets to Ocean Bartlett, who made 54 not out in a Rush total of 119 for 5. Georgia Wilson chipped in with 31, while Erin Carroll and Jane Maguire each took two wickets.

Lara Maritz may be out of favour with representative selectors but she once again was in the runs as she thumped 6 fours and five sixes in a 24-ball 65 as Balbriggan chased down108 to win inside 8 overs. Zara Craig's unbeaten 50 (4 fours) was the main contribution to Phoenix's 108 for seven.

Pembroke beat Merrion by 17 runs.

Former Irish internationals Clare Shillington's 56 from 46 deliveries (6 fours) and an unbeaten 33 from Shauna Kavanagh took Pembroke to 136 for two. That was enough as Merrion could only make 119 for 8 despite 41 from Anna Squires - three wickets for Kimli McDonald and two for Zoe Bell.

Clontarf beat Phoenix by 9 wickets.

Alice Walsh thumped 8 fours and two sixes in a 39-ball 65 as Clontarf beat Phoenix by 9 wickets chasing 117. Alison Black's unbeaten 51 the best of Phoenix's 116 for 8 - three wickets for Gemma Sargent and two for Alice Walsh.

Rush beat Malahide by 3 runs.

Rush edged out Malahide by 3 runs at Kenure with Ocean Bartlett's 55 making almost half of their 115 for 6. Aoife Beggs then took three wickets to restrict Malahide to 112 for 6.

Leinster lost to Pembroke by 50 runs.
Rathmines, 21 June.


Clare Shillington's 69-ball 92 (12 fours, 1 six) propelled Pembroke to a 50-run win over Leinster. She shared a second wicket stand of 91 with Zoe Bell, who made a run-a-ball 23. A total of 178 for 3 was always out of reach for Leinster, who made 128 for 9 - Karina Bell making 33.

Balbriggan lost to Clontarf by 5 wickets.

A century stand between Alice Walsh and Susan Lawless set Clontarf on their way to a five wicket win at Balbriggan chasing down 156. Walsh hit 8 fours in a 43-ball 60, while Lawless found the boundary seven times in a quickfire 40. Lara Maritz took three wickets to go with her earlier 30-ball 48 (7 fours, 2 sixes), while there were runs too for Tess Maritz (46*) and Ciara Gibson (37).
Round 2: Railway Union beat Dublin University by 8 wickets

Despite the best efforts of all concerned no play was possible at College Park and the match will now be replayed.
Round 2: Clontarf beat Phoenix by 6 wickets.

A century from David Delany propelled Clontarf past what looked an imposing Phoenix total of 284 for 8 to clinch a six wicket win with more than six overs remaining, Eknoor Singh had made a run-a-ball 150 that included 23 fours and a six, adding 189 with Tyrone Kane (65). Singh however messed about switching his batting style and that served to stir up their opponents in the chase. Ash Bain took three wickets and at 108 for four it still seemed as if Phoenix would prevail. However, skipper Delany hit 13 fours and two maximums in a 90-ball 121 not out sharing an unbroken 178 for the fifth wicket with the impressive John McNally, whose unbeaten 76 included four fours and three sixes.
Round 2: Pembroke beat The Hills by 101 runs.

Andrew Balbitnie made it back-to-back centuries for Pembroke to take the Sydney Parade side into the semi-finals with a 101-run win over The Hills. Balbo hit 11 fours and four sixes as he batted through the innings to make an unbeaten 150 out of 308 for 4. He dominated an opening stand of 75 with JJ Garth (24) and took the game away from the Fingal side as he and Jack Tector put on 146 in 22 overs, with Jack's 64 from 67 balls including 8 fours. Adam Boulton (37*) added a further 62 with the Ireland Test captain as the visitors wilted. The chase never really got going with Andrew Kavanagh (40), Tomas Rooney-Murphy (33) and 27 apiece from Hassan Shahid and Matthew Weldon the best of their 207 for 8 - three wickets for Andy Balbirnie rubbing salt into the wounds.
Round 2: North County beat Balbriggan by 64 runs.
Balrothery, 15 June.


North County won the bragging rights in the Fingal derby as they beat Balbriggan by 64 runs. Matthew Hollard (4-17) had County in early strife, but they were rescued by half centuries from Eddie Richardson and Jamie Grassi who added 95 for the fourth wicket. There were 20s too from Alan Mathew, Brian Dunphy and Jake Devane as they battled to 233 for 9. The Balbriggan reply stated strongly and with Chris De Freitas in full flow, Balbriggan were favourites at 126 for 2 just before halfway. The dismissal of CDF for a 45-ball 58 (6 fours, 3 sixes) sparked a collapse that saw them lose eight wickets for 40 runs to be 169 all out - three wickets for Alan Mathew, and two apiece for Usman Azhar, Eddie Richardson and Abdul Ghaffar.
Round 1: Adamstown lost to Pembroke by 164 runs

Jack Tector's century and five wickets for Gavin Hoey ensured there were no dramas for holders Pembroke as they progressed serenely into the quarter-finals of the Senior Cup with a 164-run win over Adamstown. Tector made 109 (11 fours, 1 six) while Greg Hollins (31), Mark Berry (27), and JJ Garth (22) all chipped in to a total of 234 for 9. The home side were skittled out for just 70 - five wickets for Gavin Hoey and three for skipper Paul Lawson (3-10) in the emphatic win.
Round 1: Railway Union beat Rush by 40 runs

Nathan McGuire hit 130 but in a losing cause as Rush lost by 40 runs at Railway Union. The home side posted 243 thanks to a half century from captain Philippe Le Roux - he top-scored with 56 adding 78 for the fourth wicket with Sri Karpe (39). Liam McCarthy hit a 31-ball 40 (4 fours, 2 sixes) but five wickets for Nasir Totakhil saw Railway all out for 243. The chase was all about McGuire who thumped 17 fours and 3 sixes in a 102-ball 130, but received little support as Rush were all out for 203 - five wickets for Ashil Prakash and three for Liam McCarthy.
Round 1: North County beat Terenure by 6 wickets.
Balrothery, 10 May.


North County were comfortable winners over Terenure at Balrothery. Niqash Ali ploughed a lonely furrow with 55 (6 fours, 3 sixes) out of a visitors total of 123. Sean Sludds picked up four wickets, while there were two apiece for Abdul Ghaffar and Usman Azhar. Brian Dunphy went first ball of the reply, but Jamie Grassi's run-a-ball 33 (7 fours) got County back on track and a fourth wicket half century stand between Niall McGovern and Hunter Kindley who each made 30 sealed the six wickets win.
Round 1: Merrion lost to Clontarf by 7 wickets

Clontarf's excellent start to the season continued as they produced a fine batting effort to oust Merrion at Anglesea Road. David Delany (3-42) struck two early blows for the Castle Avenue side removing Stephen Doheny and Connor Blaxall-Hill cheaply, before Swapnill Modgill counterattacked with an even time 61 (9 fours) in a stand of 91 with John Anderson. Three wickets fell quickly and at 108 for 5, Merrion were in serious diffs. Anderson though rebuilt and he and Sean Stanton (58*) added an unbroken 138 in 22 overs to take their side to 246 for 5 - Anderson making exactly 100 (8 fours). Clontarf eased to victory with almost 10 overs to spare thanks to three significant partnerships. They were set on their way by an opening stand of 80 in 11.3 overs between Seamus Lynch (32) and Mitchell Thompson, who top-scored with a run-a-ball 79 (7 fours, 3 sixes) adding a further 72 for the second wicket with Eoghan Delany. The former skipper and overseas professional Patrick Xie made contrasting 50's, but each were valuable in their own way. Xie was the third and final wicket to fall - his 39-ball 57 including 9 fours and 2 sixes, while Delany ended 51 not out (3 fours).
Round 1: Civil Service lost to Phoenix by 120 runs

Shane Getkate powered Phoenix into the last eight with a brilliant hundred in the Park derby. The Irish international hit 7 sixes and fours in a 101-ball 103, sharing an entertaining fourth wicket stand of 91 in nine overs with Tyrone Kane - who 35-ball 43 included four fours and two sixes. From 177 for 3, Phoenix faltered as they lost seven wickets for 32 runs to be 209 all out - four wickers for Raviprasad. Kane then turned his attention to the ball and his three early wickets as well as two for James Maginnis saw Civil Service dismissed for just 89.
Round 1: Dublin University beat North Kildare by 9 wickets.
College Park, 10 May.



Dublin University had little trouble as they brushed aside North Kildare at College Park to win by 9 wickets. Irish international Matthew Humphreys took four wickets as Kildare stumbled to 93 all out - Asadullah Ahmadzai making 36, with Humphreys well supported by Theo Dempsey (3-20) and Yash Bala (2-20). The chase was a routine won as Macdara Cosgrave hit ten boundaries in a 50-ball unbeaten 60, sharing a half century stand with Jamie Forbes (18*). They will now face Railway Union at home next month.
Round 1: Malahide lost to Balbriggan by 6 wickets
The Village, 10 May.


Balbriggan set up a last eight clash at North County as they beat Malahide convincingly by six wickets at The Village. Robbie Foulkes (41) shared a second wicket stand of 76 with Adam Doyle (31) but from 123 for 3, Malahide lost seven wickets for 49 runs to be all out for 172 - three wickets for Jordan Hollard and Sam Willemse, Conor Fletcher (24) and Ghanim Dara (24) put on 41 in five overs, but the match defining stand came between Chris De Freitas and Greg Ford - playing against his old club. They sped their side to victory with a fourth wicket partnership of 82 in 11 overs, with De Freitas hitting 5 fours and 2 sixes in a 40-ball unbeaten 47, while Ford made a 35-ball 43 (4 fours, 2 sixes). Mike Frost (3-22) bowled well in a losing cause.
Round 1: The Hills beat Leinster by 2 runs

The closest and most dramatic game of the day came at The Hills where the home side edged out Leinster in a real thriller. Batting first, The Hills rallied from 105 for 5 after 31 overs to post 252 for 6 thanks to an unbeaten 125 from Oliver Horlock (12 fours, 4 sixes), sharing stands of 73 with Edson Silva - who cleared the ropes four times in a 28-ball 40 - and an unbroken 74 for the seventh with Matthew Weldon (34*). Leinster looked dead and buried as they were reduced to 171 for 8, but a 9th wicket stand of 79 between Jai Moondra (41) and Bilal Azhar (37) meant they started the last over with three runs needed and still two wickets intact. Moondra was run out by Horlock from the first, and skipper Tomas Rooney-Murphy had his counterpart well caught off the next ball much to the delight of the home support. The Hills' reward is an away day trip to Pembroke on the 15th of June.
