There was much to celebrate in Ireland's eighth place finish at the Under 19 World Cup, with impressive performances against their peers, culminating in a win over New Zealand.
The batting was at times brittle though, with the top-order finding the going tough against the new ball and quality attacks.
Kian Hilton was the most impressive, top-scoring with 206 at 41.20, including two fifties, while three others also passed 50 - Gavin Roulston, John McNally and Ryan Hunter.
Olly Riley topped the bowling charts with 10 wickets at 16.00, followed by Harry Dyer and John McNally who claimed five apiece.
The challenge now for Pete Johnston's youngsters will be to 'kick on', establish themselves in the interpro ranks, and hopefully progress to international level.
It will interesting to see how many of them are fast-tracked into the Wolves side that is due to tour Nepal next month, and from there who knows how high they can fly?
