Railway Union have been busy during the close season and are currently carrying out major improvements at Park Avenue, where work is continuing on their new all weather cricket practice facility.
The new weatherproof structure is located where the practice nets have been located at Park Avenue for many years.
The project began in 2018 with an application the the Sports Capital Programme, and a grant was allocated towards some of the cost the following year.
The surface used is the same as the Lords Indoor School (Coolplus carpet) and the LED lighting will meet ECB spec (1000 lux).
Work will continue over the next few months and the club hope to have it up and running by the start of the season, when it will be available for clubs, schools, corporates and individuals practice all year round.
The club is continuing its fundraising drive and this has been the main project in the club over the last five years as the goal is to have a practice facility that will help towards to development of our own players and more throughout Leinster and Irish cricket.
Good luck to all.
