OLPHERT INJURY BLOW FOR BREADY
It’s been a successful start to the season for Bready and new captain Ian Young, but they have suffered an injury blow ahead of their senior cup clash this weekend against Bonds Glen.
Paceman Conor Olphert, who missed almost the entire campaign last season, has been ruled out of the clash. The 28 year-old Irish international’s absence is however the only concern for skipper Young who has a full squad otherwise to pick from.
“We have Conor missing due to an ankle injury picked up on Warriors’ duty last week in Dublin,” said Young. “Other than that, we have a full squad to pick from.
“Bonds Glen isn’t going to be an easy game for us, and we aren’t going to take them lightly. They have some good players, with a crop of talented youngsters as well. If you add in their overseas professional to that, you can see they can be a dangerous side, who have the potential to make it difficult for us. Hopefully after the wash-out last weekend, the sun shines and we can get a good game of cricket played.”
Unlike the league, cup games are 50 overs per-side, with all the eight scheduled ties due to start at 11 o’clock.
