Cross-region bilateral series don't happen often in associate cricket, but one has taken place over the last three days in Utrecht as the Netherlands hosted Hong Kong for a four match women's T20I series.

The home side batted first in the opening game on Monday and scored 170-3. Captain Babette de Leede led the way with 72 from 54 balls, whilst Iris Zwilling contributed 42. Only two batters reached double figures in the Hong Kong reply as they were kept to 86-9, losing by 84 runs.

The second game on Tuesday was reduced to a 14 over contest, with Hong Kong batting first and scoring 106-5, Natasha Miles top scoring with 51. Sterre Kalis - available for only the first two games of the series in between commitments for the Diamonds in England's Charlotte Edwards Cup - then scored an unbeaten 62 from 43 balls to secure a five wicket for the home side with five balls to spare.

Miles top scored for Hong again in the third game which took place today, this time making 34 as Hong Kong scored 114-7 from their 20 overs. Robine Rijke then hit 50 from 28 balls to help her team secure a six wicket win 3.1 overs to spare.

Rijke carried on her good day in the last game of the series, top scoring with an unbeaten 84 from 51 balls as the Dutch racked up 169-5 from their 20 overs. After being 69-2 in reply, the visitors were then kept to 86-8 from their 20 overs, losing by 83 runs and giving the Dutch a 4-0 series sweep.
