A fine all-round display by the Emerging Warriors saw them beat an MCC XI at Strabane Park on Thursday.

Usman Azhar (3-35) and Josh Wilson (3-38) did the early damage as wickets tumbled, including James Hunter and Evan Williams, both of whom scored centuries earlier in the week.

Sam Kincaid (2-7) and skipper Harry Zimmermann (1-6) were the other successful bowlers as MCC were restricted to 134 for 9 in their 40 overs - Simon Beetham top-scoring with 27 not out.

Liam Doherty raced out of the traps with a fluent 27-ball 40 (2 fours, 3 sixes) adding 52 for the first wicket with Ryan Clarke (12).

MCC

MCC fought back to claim four wickets to get an opening at 81 for 4, but Scott Macbeth's purple patch continued as he thumped 6 fours and 3 sixes in his 60 not out from just 38 balls - the six wicket win sealed just past the halfway point.
