Gibraltar batted out their overs in their reply but didn't get close to the home team's total. Iain Latin scored an unbeaten 58 from 38 balls as they made 139-6, losing by 44 runs.
In the match between Scandanavian rivals Norway and Sweden, the Norwegians were put into bat and scored 185-8. Wahidullah Sahak and Anil Parmar then both took three wickets as Sweden were bowled out for 132, losing by 53 runs.
The final game of the day was between Croatia and Belgium with Croatia batting first after winning the toss. Sixteen year old debutant Zach Vukusic top scored for them with 53 from 35 balls in their total of 140-6. Muhammad Muneeb scored 54 from 48 balls before he was the sixth man out from the last ball of the 15th over.
One more run was added to take the total to an even 100 before rain drove the players from the field. Play was unable to resume and Belgium were five runs short of the DLS par score, that wicket just before the rain proving crucial for Croatia.
The tournament continues tomorrow with play opening with a match between Norway and Slovenia. Germany take on Sweden in the second match, with Jersey v Switzerland concluding the day's play.
