At Bready yesterday, Dragons made it two wins out of two in the Super50 Series with a 33 runs (DLS) victory over the Scorchers.

In-form international Orla Prendergast was the star of the game, with 77 from 68 balls in Dragons 209 for seven from 44 overs and then took two wickets for 10 runs in her four overs. The visitors were well behind of their revised target of 155 when rain ended the match after 31 overs.

Alana Dalzell, on her home ground, shared a sixth wicket stand of 67 with Prendergast and finished 36 not out, with six fours.

Fellow internationals Gaby Lewis and skipper Leah Paul were the only serious contributors with the bat for Scorchers on a day when Dalzell, Cara Murray and Kia McCartney all failed to pick up a wicket, but their accuracy ensured the Dragons’ total was never threatened.
