There was more good news for Irish international Orla Prendergast on Friday as The Blaze confirmed her signing for the rest of the 2024 season.

Prendergast replaces South African international Nadine de Klerk, who has been forced to withdraw from her return due to  injury.

Pembroke all-rounder Prendergast will feature in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy games against Southern Vipers, Sunrisers and Thunder, as well as the latter stages of the competition should The Blaze qualify for the knockout phase.

“Orla is a great player with a proven List A record and the ability to slot straight into our group for the run-in,” Head Coach Chris Guest told the Trent Bridge website.

“She is strong in all three areas of the game which has worked well as a formula for our overseas players in the last couple of seasons.

“We put together a good run of form prior to The Hundred, so we are really keen to finish the 50-over competition strongly and see where that takes us."

22 year-old Prendergast made her international debut in 2019 and has since gone on to win 78 caps, becoming a pivotal figure with bat and ball in Ed Joyce's side.
