Waringstown Women's memorable season continued at the weekend as they beat title rivals Holywood to win the Premiership and complete the double. They have the chance of the treble on Sunday as they play Phoenix in the All-Ireland T20 final.
Irish international Cara Murray's unbeaten 84 (10 fours, 1 six) was the difference in a 61-run win, with runs too for Sophie Hinds (27) and Amy Caulfield (22).
"Obviously we’re completely buzzing about doing the double, and to have been able to play our league winning game at the Lawn," said skipper Sophie Hinds. "It’s a really nice reward for all of the hard work the girls and the coaches have put in throughout the season.

"Cara’s unbeaten 84 on Sunday was top class to watch, but I would definitely say that across all of our league and cup matches throughout the year, everybody involved with the squad has made some big contributions, and they have all stepped up when it has been needed. Our coaches - Alan and Michael Waite, and Graeme Hunter deserve a huge amount of credit for how this season has gone."
That makes it 15 consecutive wins on the bounce for Waringstown, but the captain realises a tough challenge awaits with Phoenix and their star-studded line-up, but one that they are determined to enjoy.
"We’re really looking forward to Sunday. On the back of what has already been a great season, any sort of success down there is just an added bonus.
Waringstown captain Sophie Hinds
"It will be very new for us as we’ve never, as a squad had a fixture against a Leinster side before, but we will give it 100%.
"It is such a privilege to get to an Irish Senior Cup Final, especially for a such a fantastic club and with a group of amazing girls."
The Women's final starts at 11:30am and will be followed by the men's decider between Leinster and Lisburn - bot games scheduled for Phoenix Park.
