Day two of the third European sub-regional qualifier for the next men's T20 World Cup saw wins for Estonia, Denmark, Guernsey and Spain.

Estonia took on their near neighbours Finland at KGV in the morning session, choosing to bowl first after captain Arslan Amjad won the toss. Nicholas Salonen top scored for the Finns with 34 as they scored 142-9 from their 20 overs. Steffan Gooch was the pick of the bowlers with 3-20. Estonia had little trouble chasing down the target, winning by 8 wickets with 2.1 overs to spare. Gooch showed his all-round ability by top scoring with an unbeaten 72.

Over at Port Soif, Denmark were put into bat by Greece and scored 166-8. Hamid Shah - who scored a century on the opening day - was in the runs again, top scoring with 59, whilst Surya Anand hitting an unbeaten 50 from 27 balls. The Greek openers Sajid Khan Afridi and Christodoulos Bogdanos scored 31 and 39 respectively, though the latter did so by batting the entire 20 overs. No other batter made a score of note and they were kept to 134-8, losing by 32 runs.

In the afternoon session at KGV Malta batted first against hosts Guernsey and scored 139. Zeeshan Khan top scored with 41 whilst Charlie Forshaw took 3-31. Under ever gloomier skies as the rain came down - the umpires opting to stay on as the game is being played on a synthetic pitch - Guernsey chased down their target in 13.5 overs to win by eight wickets. Josh Butler top scored with an unbeaten 44 from 32 balls.

At Port Soif in the afternoon session, Spain and Czechia played out a thriller. Spain batted first and scored 179-9, Daniel Doyle-Calle top scoring with 72 from 41 balls. After falling to 84-5 in reply, Czechia got themselves into a position where they needed 12 from the final over with five wickets still in hand.

With Sahil Grover on 44 and Muralidhara Vandrasi on 37, Raja Adeel bowled the final over. Five runs - including a wide - were conceded from the first three balls before Grover was bowled for 47 from the fourth legitimate delivery. Naveed Ahmed ran a single to get Vandrasi back on strike needing a six to win the game from the last ball. He could only manage four and Spain had held on for a one run win.

After a rest day on Friday play resumes on Saturday. The morning session will see Spain take on Denmark in a battle between the two unbeaten teams in Group A and Guernsey look to keep their 100% record intact when they play Finland. The afternoon will see Bulgaria come up against Estonia and a match between two teams that share the same national anthem - Greece and Cyprus.
