Thorne Prophet produced a fine all-round display to lead Cork County to a hard-fought two-wickets win over rivals County Galway as they secured their 16th Munster Premier league.

Prophet early blitz saw Galway sump to 43 for 5, but a counter-attacking 59 (10 fours, 1 six) from former Cork player Sukphal Singh, and a dogged 32 from Illif Sumit got them up to 174.

As well as Thorne Prohet's 5 for 31, Eshan O'Sullivan claimed two wickets.

The chase got off to a flier with Ben Marris (40) and Syed Aiman (31) putting on 77 inside the powerplay.

Galway though fought back and chipped away to make it a tense finale - that man Singh again proving a major obstacle as he claimed three wickets.

Thorne Prophet soothed any nerves as he marshalled the middle and lower order over the finishing line, ending unbeaten on 45 as Cork County won by two wickets.
