Lisburn have confirmed that Ross Adair has joined the club for the 2025 season. The Irish international arrives from CIYMS, having previously played for CSNI and Holywood.

The 30-year-old enjoyed three productive seasons at CIYMS, scoring 2541 runs at an average of 46.20, including five centuries and 14 fifties, with a highest score of 186 against Instonians.

"It was obviously tough to leave CIYMS after three great years there," said Adair. "I'm now just really looking forward to joining Lisburn next year."

He joins his younger brother Mark at Wallace Park, and admitted that the lure of playing with his sibling, as well as overseas professional Faiz Fazal and Ryan Macbeth were big factors in the switch.

"Sparky (Mark Adair) being there already was a big pull for me. I'd also gotten sick of watching Faiz score hundred after hundred against me, so it will be nice for me to be on the same team as him. I'd also always wanted to play alongside Ryan Macbeth so that was another big factor for me too.

"It should be an exciting year for the club, and hopefully there will be more success for the team and silverware in 2025."

Lisburn captain Neil Whitworth was understandably upbeat by the high-profile addition to an already talented squad.

"We are delighted to welcome Ross Adair to Lisburn," said Whitworth.

"Ross' skill set needs no introduction and having played at the highest level, he will add valuable strength, depth and quality to the team.

"He is a character that we have no doubt will have a huge impact at the club, both on and off the field, and we are all very excited to have him down at Wallace Park."

Lisburn enjoyed another successful campaign this season, winning the All-Ireland T20 Cup, meaning they will represent Ireland at the European Champions League in Spain next season.

The addition of a power-hitter and truly exceptional fielder like Ross Adair to their ranks will make Lisburn one of the more fancied sides in the tournament.
