Clontarf all-rounder John McNally has made a bright start to his stint in Australia.

The 19-year-old has played four matches to date, scoring 106 runs at an average of 26.50. He made his debut for Randwick Petersham in an U-21 Podevin Gray Shield  game scoring 8, before going on to make 27 in the 3rd grade Mitchell Cup.

His top score of 48 off 39 balls came in the PG Shield win over Northern District. John shared a 3rd wicket partnership with Zak Keogh of 122 after entering at 10 for 2 in a contest reduced to 17 overs per side

His latest innings saw him make 23 in the Second Grade Albert Cup and he will once again be in the Randy Petes 2nd XI for this weekend's trip to Manly.

The Leinster Lightning and Ireland Under 19-international is in Sydney as part of the Cricket Ireland International programme with Randwick Petersham that has been ongoing since 2015.
