Ardmore CC have secured planning approval for a multi-purpose hall extension to their existing pavilion at the Bleachgreen.
The hall will be large enough to cater for up to 100 people and includes a bar as well as additional storage facilities on the first floor.
Whilst the hall is connected to the existing building, it will also have its own independent entrance for use by the local community in the greater Ardmore area. This is a very important aspect of the project for Ardmore CC who will now work closely with the newly formed Ardmore Community Development group and DCSDC in a bid to secure funding for this project.
It is hoped the hall will be built within the next 5 years in advance of the club’s 150th year anniversary celebrations in 2029. The project has also been referenced in the Faughan Local Growth Plan 2023 as one of the six key capital projects to be delivered in the Faughan area over the next 5 years.
The building itself will be constructed using modern methods of construction and will be incorporate high energy efficient measures such as an air source heat pump, a mechanical ventilation & heat recovery (MVHR) system for heating and ventilation, triple glazed windows, high levels of thermal insulation and photo voltaic roof panels connected to battery storage units.
The extension is the first phase of a master plan which has been devised for the Ardmore CC grounds with other projects including a large multi-sport indoor hall, a five-bay cricket MUGA, modular changing rooms for the youth’s pitch, walking trails and other site infrastructure works including car parking and perimeter fencing.
