Irish international David Delany has confirmed he will be playing for Dublin University aka Trinity College this season.

Trinity feature in the Alan Murray T20 Cup, Leinster Senior Cup as well as the U23 Siggins Cup.

"I'm looking forward to playing for Trinity this summer, and further exploring the academic opportunities," Delany told CricketEurope.

"I am a previous student in the University, and still have friends and teachers who are involved.

"College Park provides a first-class playing environment and is a ground that clearly enhances the overall experience of playing cricket - well supported match day crowd and wickets of very high standard."

Delany remains eligible to play for Clontarf in the Leinster Premiership and Irish Senior Cup.

The 28-year-old enjoyed his most prolific season with the ball at Castle Avenue in 2025, taking 37 wickets including his personal best haul of 7-19 versus Railway Union.

At senior level Delany has made 180 appearances for Clontarf, scoring 3749 runs at 39.46, while claiming 244 wickets at 19.07.

The 'Clontarf Express' made the last of his seven Irish appearances back in 2019, suffering a severe knee injury during the T20 WCQ.

His arrival at College Park will be a real boost to the students ahead of the 2026 campaign.
