Farmers Cross, 19 April.
Midleton 98 (26.5 overs; A Beyrooti 47; S Jones 5-22, Seneth Sumanasinghe 3-19)
Cork Harlequins 99-4 (24.1 overs; S Jones 20*)
Seanan Jones took five wickets (Harlequins CC)
It was the Seanan Jones show at Farmers Cross as the former Irish youth international took a five-wicket haul as Midleton were dismissed for 98. Andrew Beyrooti (47) their lone hand in a rusty batting effort. There were three wickets too for Seneth Sumanasinghe in an impressive bowling effort by Harlequins, backed up an excellent display behind the stumps by Shivam Kislay who took five catches. The visitors bowled manfully in trying to defend a low total, but Jones made an unbeaten 20 as the hosts made a winning start to their Premier League campaign clinching a six-wicket victory just before the halfway stage.
