Eglinton all-rounder Mark Averill has confirmed he is joining Donemana for the 2026 campaign.

The talented opening bowler and late-order batter will help the Holm club off-set the departures of David O'Sullivan and William McClintock.

"Following a tough year and given recent injuries I was very close to retiring," said Averill.

"However, then out of the blue I got a call to go play at the Holm, which was an easy decision for me. There isn't much to think about when a club like Donemana come calling.

"They are always in the mix, challenging on all fronts for every trophy, and I want to be a part of that.

"I can't wait for the new season to begin and hopefully I can play a big part in bringing continued success to Donemana."

After a quiet winter, the NW transfer marker has come out of hibernation this week with a number of moves confirmed.

There are still no sign though of any fixtures for the coming season or any cup draws being made or released. The Unions are awaiting Cricket Ireland to confirm international dates before releasing schedules for 2026.
