Bonds Glen continue to make great strides on an off the field, adding to already impressive facilities, while their youth section is the envy of many of the so called bigger clubs. Indeed, their U13 Girls winning the All-Ireland Cup last year was one of the feel-good stories of the year in the region.

Stevie Dunn takes over as captain, and he will have another ex-Donemana player on his side, as the Bee Gees pulled off the signing coup of the close season as Irish international William McClintock joined.

There's a new professional in the form of South African Danie Rossouw who replaces his countryman Divan Posthumus.

"We are very fortunate to have a good blend of youth and experience throughout the team and with Stevie Dunn as skipper he will undoubtedly bring a lot of experience to the younger members of the squad," said a Bonds Glen spokesperson.

"Danie Rossouw, is coming into the club as a wicket keeper/batsman and has been highly recommended to us by our outgoing professional Divan Posthumus, who we'd like to thank for all his help and guidance over the past two seasons.

"Probably the biggest boost in the close season was the signing of ex-Ireland international, William McClintock. Also the availability of Heinrich Roberts is another great fillip to our playing ranks.

"We have high hopes for our young players(Adam Thompson and Mark Robinson) but especially Samuel Haslett, who will clearly benefit after his spell with the Ireland U19 squad at the recent World Cup.

"With all these different improvements to the playing ranks, we are very hopeful for silverware and a big push towards promotion!

"Off the field, the Club is going from strength to strength with a new extension to our pavilion recently started.

"We are very fortunate to have a fantastic team of workers at the club who are continuing to take the club forward."

It could certainly be a year to remember for Bonds Glen if their big guns fire.
