PHOENIX

  • Captain: Shane Getkate
  • Head Coach: Alan Lewis
  • Overseas professional: None
  • Players in: Sean McNicholl (The Hills)

Phoenix have been one of the leading clubs in Leinster in recent years, picking up silverware along the way, including an Irish Senior Cup success in 2024 when they beat Merrion by one run in one of the all-time great finals.

It's been a relatively quiet close season at The Park with the only incoming player of note being Irish passport holder Sean McNicholl from The Hills. He will add some quality and pace to their attack.

They do have a new skipper in the shape of former Irish international Shane Getkate, who takes over the responsibility from Adam Chester.

“I'm delighted to be captaining Phoenix this year; it’s a great honour," Getkate told CricketEurope. "We are all really excited for the season ahead.

"We have a great mix of young talent coming through along with current Irish internationals in George Dockrell and Ben White. Both have been great in not only winning games for us, but also passing on their experience from playing at the highest level.

"Sam Morris and Rory MacColl are two young spinners to keep an eye on. Both work extremely hard at their game and had successful seasons in 2nd XI cricket last year.

"Andrew John is also a young batter coming through the ranks whom we are excited to see progress, amongst a few others coming through as well."

With quality and firepower throughout their ranks, Phoenix will certainly be a match for most sides on any given day.
