Newbuildings have enjoyed great success in recent years, picking up all the domestic trophies, and challenging Brigade and Donemana all the way.

They look to have wintered well with two prodigal sons making their way back to the Foyleview Arena, in top-order batsman Mark Hanna, and all-rounder Jared Wilson. Indeed, it was Wilson who guided them to their first, and to date Premiership title before switching to the NCU.

Jared's namesake Josh has joined from Brigade, looking to relaunch his career after a quiet 2025. He will replace Charlie Downey with the new ball after he opted for pasture new as well.

Peat Salmon had a super all-round 2025 with 1200 runs and 50 wickets and if he can recapture that sort of form then Newbuildings won't be too far from major success again.

"I'm very happy with how our winter preparations have went thus far," captain Ross Hunter told CricketEurope.

"We have a lot of talented players within our squad and I'm really happy with our quality and depth. I personally think we have a really good balance within the squad this season.

"Our main aim would be improvement on last season and see where that takes us."

You get the feeling that Ross could well be lifting a trophy or two above his head come the end of the season.
