The North West have postponed the start of the domestic season, with the opening round of fixtures now being played on Saturday April 25th.

There were to be a double-round of T20 matches with eight matches in both the new Premiership and Championship T20 competitions, but these will now be on Monday 18th and 25th May.

Clubs have been struggling to get grounds and squares ready with the recent wet and cold weather, and there was universal agreement to push the season back bringing it in line with both the NCU and Leinster senior campaigns.

It also alleviates pressure on umpiring appointments with the Association continuing to struggle for numbers despite numerous appeals and courses.
