Philippe Le Roux has started the season with a bang as he made an unbeaten double hundred for Loughborough University against Leeds in the British Universities Championship.

The former Ireland U19 international captain hit an unbeaten 209 from just 153 deliveries, including 19 fours and 8 sixes.

Loughborough were in some trouble at 56 for 4, but the Railway Union man hit them out of trouble sharing a fifth wicket stand of 233 with Liam Hayes as they finished on 367 for 5.

The game was abandoned with Leeds 12 for 1 in the second innings.

After making his interprovincial debut for Leinster Lightning in 2024, the psychology undergraduate switched to Munster Reds in 2025 where he enjoyed a really productive campaign.

In 15 games he scored 461 runs at an average of 41.91 (5 fifties) and a Strike Rate of over 120.

Whether that is enough to get him an interpro gig in 2026 with the demise of Munster Reds remains to be seen.

If he keeps producing innings like this week, then he will be hard to ignore!
