North Down have been something of a sleeping giant in recent times when it comes to major silverware but are still capable of beating anyone on their day given the array of talent at their disposal.

"I thought we did reasonably well last year, given we were such a young squad," said skipper Tyron Koen. "It will still be a young squad this coming season and we have lost two great servants in Ally Shields and Peter Davison, and we thank them for their efforts.
"Coming in we have Harry Zimmermann from Ardmore who will do well in the middle-order and with the ball. He's very enthusiastic, vocal in the field and a great competitor.
"Also joining is young Arnold Oduvelil from Muckamore and I'm hoping he will have a fantastic season as well.
"Players worth keeping an eye on will be Jaxon Dines in his second season, Kian Hilton, who has so much talent as does Stevie Saul, who scored so many runs last year and hopefully he can replicate that form again.

"Jacob McClure Dalzell and Luke Crothers have been awesome in pre-season this year and will be another two youngsters looking for an opportunity.
"We have a quality professional in off-spinner all-round Mike Erlank who showed his undoubted and quality for years at Eglinton, so he is well aware of Irish conditions. He is very keen and excited by the challenge and will provide a cool head for the youngsters in the squad. I think he will be a great addition to the club and just exactly what we need.

"I'm excited for the campaign ahead, and it's a great chance for the younger players to kick on, take a step up and improve their cricket."
North Down look to have assembled a nice blend of youth and experience at Cpmber and if they fire then they will be certainly there or thereabouts in the ultra-competitive NCU Premiership.
