It's a historic return to the top echelons of Leinster cricket for Civil Service.

The club have strengthened well over the close season with no fewer than four major additions, all with proven quality and experience in local cricket.

Hedayat Ullah Khogiani, Edson Silva, Devender Ranolia, and Zaman Safi have all signed and the quartet certainly add depth to a squad that has only one outgoing - Naveed Khan.

"We are really excited to see the club playing at the highest level this season," said a club spokesperson.

"We are the fourth oldest cricket club in Ireland and one of the eight clubs in the first Leinster Senior League in 1919 but the last time Civil Service played league cricket at this level was 1944, so it's been a while.

"The players are looking forward to testing themselves against the best that Leinster cricket has to offer and have been working hard in training for the last few months in preparation," he added.

"We know this season will be a test for us but whatever happens we won't make it easy for anyone coming to play us in the Park."

It promises to be a season to remember for all associated with Civil Service.
