Cricket Scotland has announced details of the route for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup trophy tour in Scotland, taking place between Thursday 7 and Saturday 9 May.

The trophy will arrive in Glasgow just over four weeks ahead of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup beginning in England, when Scotland will compete in a group that includes the hosts and Ireland. The trophy will travel nearly 400 miles over three days visiting cricket clubs, communities and iconic venues across Scotland.
Scotland national team squad members will accompany the trophy on the tour, which will conclude in Edinburgh on the evening of Saturday 9 May at The Grange, the host venue for the forthcoming T20 Tri Series between Scotland, Bangladesh and Netherlands. Tickets for this historic series are on sale now.
A highlight moment of the trophy tour will take place on the opening day when Scotland’s new World Cup shirt is unveiled. The design of the new shirt, to be worn by the men’s and women’s senior and pathway national teams during the next World Cup cycle, has been selected following a public competition. Further details around the shirt launch will be released shortly.
The trophy will travel from Glasgow to Ayrshire, before heading north via Dundee to Aberdeenshire, before returning south through Fife to Edinburgh, where it will be on show in front of thousands of spectators at Murrayfield Stadium during the Women’s Six Nations match between Scotland and France.
Kathryn Bryce, Scotland Captain, said: “It’s so exciting to have the Women’s T20 World Cup trophy arriving in Scotland. I’m really looking forward to joining the tour with other members of the squad and meeting lots of cricket fans around the country, as well as many others who are maybe learning about the sport for the first time or just want to be part of a such a major event.
“The opportunity for us to play at a World Cup so close to home is a unique one, and it’s going to be an amazing tournament to be part of. We can’t wait to take on some of the best players in the world and test ourselves to the limit in front of big crowds in England.
“We’re hoping the Scotland supporters get behind us in force at the World Cup, but also at The Grange in Edinburgh later this month when we host Bangladesh and Netherlands. It’s the first time we’ve played in Scotland for four years so it’s going to be an emotional moment for everyone in the team, and the trophy tour will really kick off our buildup in a big way.”
Charles Paterson, Cricket Scotland Head of Communications, said: “We’re delighted to welcome the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup trophy to Scotland.
The purpose of the trophy tour is to raise awareness of the T20 World Cup taking place next month in England, but it also gives us a chance to celebrate Scottish women’s cricket which is going from strength to strength, as well as the success of our women’s national team.
“The last two years have seen Scotland Women reach two World Cups, beat several full member nations and be crowned Scottish Team of the Year in 2024. However many of their achievements have occurred overseas, so to compete in a World Cup in England is tremendous for our players and fans. Of course before then, the team
are playing on Scottish soil for the first time in four years, so this is a fantastic opportunity to support and grow the women’s game in this country.
“It’s also exciting to launch our new World Cup shirt during the trophy tour. Cricket unites people and communities across Scotland, and this design competition has certainly captured the spirit of the Scottish cricket community. The winning design will be available to purchase ahead of the World Cup, and our players are eager to see what they’ll be wearing in England.”
