The NW Under 19s began life in the Senior Championship T20 competition with an away trip to Drummond to face another side making their debut in Letterkenny.

Batting first, Boyd Rankin's young charges made a solid start with Brigade duo Charlie Gault (29) and Mo Hussain (20) putting on 42 for the first wicket.

Charlie Downey then made an unbeaten 30 to take the Junior Warriors to 127 for 7.

The chase was a nip and tuck affair with runs for Ramees (30) and 23 from Ateeq that included three sixes.

Two wickets from Sam Haslett and Lewis Campbell had the teenagers a shade in front when bad light stopped play with Letterkenny 94 for 6 after 16.1 overs.

Both teams agreed on a 'No Result' with no official umpires or a DLS operation in place.

The par score was 101, suggesting a seven-run win for the NW would have been the result if the teams hadn't agreed to shake hands on a no-result.
