There was something of a deja vu feeling at the Happy Valley cricket grounds in Cyprus today as Austria, France, Guernsey and Jersey all recorded day two wins to go with their opening day wins.
The morning matches were both rather one-sided affairs. In Group B, Malta were put into bat by Guernsey and were bowled out for 74, Martin-Dale Bradley taking four wickets for just nine runs. Guernsey lost three wickets early in their chase but avoided collapse and chased down their target in 11.2 overs to win by six wickets.
In Group A, France chose to bat first against Croatia and made 208-4 from their 20 overs, the first time they have gone past 200 in T20Is. Gustav McKeon top scored for the second time with 59 from only 30 balls. Usman Khan then took 4-20 as Croatia were bowled out for 126 to lose by 82 runs. Connor Carroll was their sole bright spot, contributing over half their runs in his knock of 71.
In the afternoon match in Group A, hosts Cyprus had Jersey on the backfoot a couple of times as the Channel Islanders batted first, but Jersey's class helped them post 172 from their 20 overs, with Julius Sumerarurer top scoring with 43 from only 16 balls. He then completed a fine all-round performance by taking 3-29 as Cyprus were kept to 120-9, losing by 52 runs.

The game of the tournament so far took place in Group B during the afternoon session, where Austria took on neighbours Slovenia. Looking to end a ten game losing streak, Slovenia batted first after winning the toss and posted a competitive 164-6 from their 20 overs with captain Izaz Ali smashing 83 from 42 balls.
Austria started their run chase with an opening partnership of 42 in 3.4 overs, and the game swung back and forth repeatedly from there. Austria were firmly on the back foot on 86-6 in the 11th over, before a 52 run partnership between Armaan Randhawa and Kumud Jha got them back into it.
Two quick wickets breifly got Slovenia back into the contest, but Austria held firm with Randhawa scoring the winning runs - and his fifty - with a four six balls from the end, securing a two wicket win.
Tomorrow is a rest day in Cyprus with play resuming on Tuesday. One of France and Jersey will end their 100% record when they play each other in the morning group A match, whilst Croatia and Switzerland contest the afternoon match. In Group B, Slovenia take on Sweden in the morning whilst the afternoon will see another 100% record end when Austria come up against Guernsey.
