Bonds Glen powered to an emphatic victory over near neighbours Ardmore in a rain-affected clash.

The home side were in destructive form from the outset, racing to 157 for 4 from only 13.2 overs before the weather intervened.

Former Ardmore player Dharm Singh and South African overseas professional Dane Rossouw tore into the bowling with an explosive opening stand of 105.

Rossouw hammered a superb 57 from just 23 balls, clearing the ropes five times and striking five fours, while Singh top-scored with 67 from 34 deliveries, including nine fours and four sixes.

Young South African leg-spinner Matt Cuffe briefly checked the scoring with 2 for 27, while Vivek Dwivedi and Mujeeb also claimed a wicket apiece, but at quite a cost.

Rain left Ardmore chasing a revised target of 81 from five overs, but the contest was effectively over after Dharm Singh struck twice in the opening over.

Ardmore limped to 41 for 5 as Bonds Glen sealed a dominant win that augurs well for their hopes of silverware this season.

Less than 24 hours after their previous encounter, Eglinton again proved too strong for Letterkenny with a blistering eight-wicket win.

Letterkenny posted a competitive 149 for 4 after being asked to bat, despite teenager Tom Spratt making early inroads with two quick wickets to remove both openers.

Varun Tiwari steadied the innings with a run-a-ball 34 before sharing a third-wicket stand of 73 with Muhammad Khalid, who top-scored with an unbeaten 53 from 33 balls, including six fours and a six.

Ateeq ur Rehman then provided late fireworks, smashing three sixes in an unbeaten 23 from only 11 deliveries.

Eglinton’s reply briefly stumbled when skipper Andy Lucas fell cheaply, but Andy Millar and overseas professional Dunith Jayathunga took complete control.

Millar blasted 75 from 44 balls, while Jayathunga hammered an unbeaten 67 from 35 deliveries as the pair shared a match-winning stand of 120 in a rapid chase completed inside 14 overs.

There was no repeat of the previous day’s drama as rain brought the T20 clash between Killyclooney and Glendermott to a premature end after just 10 overs at Killyclooney.

Meeting again less than 24 hours after Killyclooney’s Championship victory, the home side made a lively start and reached 68 for 5 before the weather closed in.

Opener Alan Nicholl and overseas professional Keenan Viera looked in excellent touch as they guided Killyclooney to 63 for 2, taking advantage of the shortened format with positive strokeplay.

Nicholl struck 20 at the top of the order, while Viera led the way with an entertaining 24 from 22 balls that included two fours and two sixes.

However, Glendermott hit back strongly in the latter stages of the innings. JJ O’Brien sparked a mini-collapse with impressive figures of 3 for 11, while Lewis Pearson claimed 2 for 28 as wickets tumbled in a late flurry before the rain arrived to end proceedings early, with neither side getting any points from the wash-out.

Burndennett's travelling T20 troubles seem to be surfacing this year again with the Tyrone side unable to field a side to go to Ballyspallen, who collect maximum points from the fixture.
