Sub-regional A qualifying for the next men's T20 World Cup continued today in Cyrpus, and currently Jersey and Guernsey look to be heading to a final day Channel Islands showdown for a spot in next year's European final.

Jersey sit on top of Group A after their win over France in the morning session. France were put into bat and were bowled out for 145, with five Jersey bowlers each taking two wickets. Jersey had little trouble chasing down their target, with Harrison Carlyon (57 not out) and Patrick Gouge (54) leading the way as they completed an eight wicket win with 4.1 overs to spare.

The other morning session match was a Group B contest between Slovenia and Sweden. Slovenia chose to bat first and scored 133-6, more than half of those runs coming from an unbeaten knock of 77 by Owen Groves. Ajay Mundra of Sweden almost matched him with an unbeaten 76 as his team chased down their target in 14.2 overs, winning by 7 wickets.

The afternoon match in Group B saw Guernsey put into bat and score 196-7 from their 20 overs. Josh Butler top scored with 68, whilst Tom Nightingale (55) and Matthew Stokes (42) also making significant contributions. Karanbir Singh scored 59 from 30 balls in Austria's reply, but nobody else stayed in long enough as they were bowled out for 150, losing by 46 runs.

Group A's afternoon match between Croatia and Switzerland was a higher scoring affair, with Connon Carroll having a day to remember. He clubbed an unbeaten 150 from 72 balls, becoming only the sixth male player to score 150 or higher in a T20I, helping Croatia post 199-2 from their 20 overs. Switzerland made a good attempt at their chase with a total of 183-8 to lose by 16 runs.
