Hogan struck an impressive 48 from just 32 balls, including nine fours and a six, while Tector added 25. Their 76-run stand came in only seven overs and appeared to have put Pembroke firmly in command.

Railway Union battled back admirably, tightening the scoring rate and taking regular wickets to keep the outcome in doubt. Tipnis led the resistance with 2-17 as the pressure mounted. Despite the late wobble, Pembroke held their nerve to reach 135-6 with three balls remaining and seal a hard-earned win.
