Rwanda and Kenya will play in next year's African qualifying final for the 2028 Men's T20 World Cup after the second sub-regional event took place in Botswana this past week.

The other teams involved in the tournament in addition to the hosts were Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Mali and Sierra Leone.

Mali and Ivory Coast were hopelessly outclassed, with Mali only beating the Ivorians, who finished their tournament yesterday by being bowled out for 18 by Kenya. Their net run rate of -9.065 tells its own story.

Rwanda did beat Kenya early in the tournament in what even with this diminished Kenyan team was a surprise, but Kenya kept up the pace, and a 62 run win over the home side on Friday meanth that their win over Ivory Coast on the final day was enough to qualify.

Rwanda got a scare on the final day when they were ran close by Botswana, but ultimately prevailed with a two run win to secure their place in the reigonal final.

Tanzania and Ghana had already qualified from the first sub-regional event back in March - somewhat confusingly that was Group B with this recent tournament being group A - with Namibia already seeded in the final after playing in the World Cup earlier this year.

The final sub-reigonal event will be in Nigeria in October, with the hosts playing Gambia, Lesotho, Mozambique, Uganda and Zambia.
