British Army headline Charity North East Series

The Army Cricket Association were confirmed this week as the headline participant in July’s North East Cricket Series across a three-game multi-format series, raising money for local North East charities chosen by the participants.

Moving into its 23rd year, ‘The North East Cricket Series’ has maintained its reputation as one to attend, with the Army Cricket Association returning in 2026 as part of their preparations for Inter Services events later in the month, and ongoing commitments to ensuring sport plays a part in supporting local communities across the United Kingdom.

Army Cricket Association Operations Manager Major (Retd) Paul Greenwood “The Army Cricket Association is delighted to be returning to the North East Cricket Series in July, supporting not only the series on the field, but also proud to be matching the charity fundraising of the local cricketers off the field, which we know means more than the cricket to the members”.

John D Holland, the North East Cricket Series Director, added, “I know that I speak for all of the partners in the North East Cricket Series in saying that the Army Cricket is always welcome.  The Army means so much to so many here in the North East, and my thanks to Major Greenwood for all of his assistance in ensuring the considerable logistics have been smoothly handled, and so many can see how they come to the North East not just to play, but to support the belief that cricket can make a difference to good causes, and charities”.

‘The North East Cricket Series’ will be releasing more series details, including venues, formats, and live streaming details in the coming weeks.
