The Irish Veterans Association has announced the squads for the inaugural North v South fixture, which will be played at Merrion Cricket Club on Wednesday, June 10, with play commencing at 1.00pm in a 30 overs per-side contest.

The match represents a significant milestone for veterans cricket in Ireland and is expected to be the first of many inter-provincial encounters designed to promote participation and provide a pathway towards representative honours.
The North XI comprises:
Ismail Mohamed (Belfast Super Kings), Billy Adams (North Down), Brian Anderson (Larne), Barry Cooper (CI), Trevor Dalzell (CSNICC), Gareth Lutton (CSNICC), Gareth Robinson (Instonians), Dan Soper (CI), Simon Thompson (Muckamore), Bruce Topping (Donacloney Mill) and Roger Trigg (CI).
A North spokesperson said:
"We are delighted to confirm this first North Over-50s squad and wish all those selected the very best of luck.
"The response to the veterans programme has been extremely encouraging and we hope this fixture marks the beginning of a successful new venture. Plans are already in place for a further inter-provincial match later in the summer."
The initiative also complements the launch of the NCU Masters Tournament, which begins this month and will provide additional playing opportunities for cricketers in the over-50 age category.
The Southern XI will be captained by former Irish international Ted Williamson and features representatives from clubs across Leinster and Munster.
The fixture will also serve as an important benchmark for future representative and international selection within the Irish veterans structure.
