DOUBLE DELIGHT FOR NCU IN KING'S HONOURS LIST
There was double cause for celebration in the King's Honours list with NCU stalwarts Brian Walsh and Roger Bell given prestigious awards.

Brian Walsh received the MBE for his services to cricket, having fulfilled a wide ranging number of roles including Cricket Ireland and NCU President in recent years.
"I am absolutely delighted and very humbled to receive this MBE," said Walsh. "It came as a complete surprise.
"Cricket has been a huge part of my life for many years and I have simply been fortunate to be involved in a game that I love.
"I have had the privilege of working with so many wonderful people across the sport and this honour is really a reflection of their support, friendship and dedication.
In particular I would like to thank my wife Anne and all the family for their constant encouragement and understanding over the years. It has been a privilege to serve the game and I am deeply grateful for this unexpected honour."
Also honoured for his services to local cricket was Roger Bell, also a former NCU President, who received the BEM.

"I'm obviously surprised and delighted to be receiving this honour for services to local cricket," said Bell.
"It's not just for me; it's also great to see Carrickfergus Cricket Club and the Northern Cricket Union being recognised in this way.
"I've been involved with both organisations in various capacities for over 50 years now, and it's good to know that somebody appreciates the work I have done over the years by nominating me for this award. I thank them for that."
Well done and congratulations to Brian and Roger.
