Sweden have won the Viking Cup after beating Finland in the final of the four team men's T20I tournament at the Botkyrka Cricket Centre in Stockholm.
Sweden won all three of their round robin games to top the table, with Finland losing only to the hosts, meaning that the two sides met in this afternoon's final, which was reduced to a 15 over contest due to rain.
Finland were put into bat after losing the toss and were bowled out for 116, with Faraaz Mehti Abbas making their top score of 43. Zaid Ahmad was the pick of the Swedish bowlers with 4-20.
Ajay Mundra and Saeed Ahmed opened the Swedish run chase with a 107 run partnership, ending when Ahmed was run out for 36. Mundra finished unbeaten on 62 from only 38 balls as Sweden chased down their target in 11.1 overs to win by nine wickets.

Earlier in the day, rain curtailed the third place play-off between Austria and Norway, with the Austrian side 15 runs ahead of the DLS par score when the game ended, picking up their first win of the tournament.
There was some off-field intrigue around this tournament too as it was the first international tournament run by the European Cricket Association, an organisation founded in December 2024 as what they call a "continental coordination body". They currently have 14 members, with Italy and Jersey the highest ranked European teams currently involved. Their next tournament is the annual Continental Cup in Romania, which begins on Friday and will feature Belgium, Hungary and Switzerland in addition to the hosts.
