William McClintock and Bonds Glen rewrote the record books on Sunday as the former Irish international made the highest individual score in Ireland.

McClintock hit 37 sixes and 21 fours on his way to a remarkable 339 against Letterkenny in the North West Championship - breaking the record of 313 by Captain William Oates of the Munster Fusiliers back in 1895!

Statisticians were scouring the archives as McClintock passed the scores set locally by EDR Shearer (233), Decker Curry (260), Roy Silva (295), and finally Oates 131 years previously.

Bonds Glen's total of 507 for 8 is also a new Irish senior league record, surpassing the 499 previously made by Leinster.

Rush still hold the highest score in any game for their 569 for 5 in their Irish National Cup win against Dundrum in 2016 - the match in which Stephen Doheny scored 259.

Needless to say the Bee Gees went on to win by 343 runs with Dharm Singh taking five wickets.
