Bonds Glen stormed into the NW Women’s Cup final after ousting holders Fox Lodge with a superb five-wicket win in a rain-affected semi-final at the Glen.

Fox Lodge, having won the toss and chosen to bat, posted 157 for 6 in 27 overs, with Mollie Devine producing a magnificent innings of 92 from 91 balls. Her knock, decorated with 11 fours and five sixes, was the backbone of the visitors’ total. She shared a stand of 67 with Elle Moore, who made 35, before dominating a further partnership of 69 with Emma Allen.
Leah Thompson was the pick of the Bonds Glen attack, claiming 3 for 12 in a sharp two-over spell.

With rain affecting the first innings, DLS pushed the target up by 10 runs, but Bonds Glen were undaunted despite losing an early wicket. Rihanna Young led the chase with a punchy 42 from 27 balls, striking five fours and a six, while Thompson completed a fine all-round display with an unbeaten 34 from 25 deliveries.

Bonds Glen reached 168 for 5 in just 15 overs to seal a memorable win and book their place in the final on Friday, August 14 which they are hosting.
