NCU Women Under-19s completed a comprehensive 93-run victory over their North West counterparts after producing a strong all-round performance in Donegal at St Johnston.

Batting first, the NCU reached 213 before being dismissed in 34.4 overs. Rebecca Lowe provided the foundation with an excellent 63 from 64 balls, striking six fours and a six during a composed innings. She received valuable support from Niamh Lowry, who made 41 from 47 deliveries, while Lucy Andrews added a lively 24 from 22 balls.
The North West attack was made to work hard, with 54 extras also boosting the total. Ella Wasson was the standout bowler, claiming four for 36, including three wickets in four balls near the end of the innings. Millie Spence, Jessica Cooke, Anna McGurk and Charlie Block each collected one wicket.
The North West reply struggled to gain momentum against a disciplined NCU attack. Early wickets left them 40 for four, with Amelia Guy making 16 before falling to Andrews. Jessica Cooke offered resistance with 15, while Mansi Bhavsar top-scored with 23 from 20 balls, including the innings’ only six.
However, wickets continued to fall regularly and the North West were dismissed for 120. Waringstown's Penny Speer led the bowling effort with three for 22 from seven overs, including two maidens. Andrews and Erin Bond claimed two wickets each, while Anna Ellerby, Vanessa Minford and Emily Carville took one apiece.
The convincing result moves NCU to the top of the table and they will collect the trophy in a de-facto title shoot-out against second placed Leinster at Derriaghy tomorrow (Wednesday).
