North West Warriors Women held their nerve to claim a dramatic one-wicket victory over the NCU in a low-scoring Future Series contest.

The NCU were dismissed for 103 in 23.4 overs after captain Taila Hurley fell without scoring. Emily Carville made 14, Nina Kerr contributed 13 and Eve Wilson top-scored with 15, but the innings never developed sustained momentum.
Tiara Mitchell led the North West attack with three for 11, while Abbey-Gale McGarrigle claimed three for 16. Ella Wasson also collected two wickets as the Warriors restricted their opponents to a modest total.
The Warriors’ reply began steadily through Emily Young and Wasson, who made 25, before Carville transformed the contest with a devastating spell.
She dismissed Young, Sophie Hamilton, Kia McCartney, Tanisha Hussain and Jennifer Jackson to finish with outstanding figures of five for 15.
Eve Wilson added two wickets as North West collapsed from 44 for one to 51 for eight, leaving the match finely balanced.
Mitchell’s valuable 19 helped repair the damage before Hurley trapped her leg before wicket.
Rihanna Young remained composed with an unbeaten 18, while Anna McGurk finished eight not out. The pair guided the Warriors over the line completing victory by the narrowest of margins.
