Brigade lifted the Sammy Jeffrey Cup with a comprehensive 185-run victory over Killyclooney at The Rectory, their greater depth and quality ultimately proving decisive.

After taking a 25-run first-innings lead on an attritional opening day, the Premiership side took full advantage of improved batting conditions to effectively bat Killyclooney out of the contest.
David Barr was the outstanding performer, compiling a superb 103 from 139 balls with nine fours and two sixes to earn the Man of the Match award.
Gavin Roulston added 37 in an opening stand of 66, James Smallwoods 24 in a partnership of 67 and Scott Macbeth a brisk 46 as the pair put on 77 for the third. Captain Andy Britton launched four sixes in a rapid 36 from 21 deliveries as Brigade reached 273 for six.

That left Killyclooney facing a daunting overall target of 299 and their hopes were quickly extinguished when Keenan Vieira and Alfie Moan departed with only eight on the board.
Ryan Macbeth claimed both early wickets before Barr completed a memorable personal performance as he and Jamie Millar ran through the middle and lower order, caliming four wickets apiece.
Cody Mehaffey made 19 and Jason Wallace 16, while Jordan Nelson offered some late defiance with 20, but Killyclooney were dismissed for 113.

It was a convincing conclusion after the Championship side had kept Brigade honest on day one. Killyclooney’s travelling support provided plenty of noise and colour throughout, but once conditions improved, Brigade’s experience and batting strength took complete control to ensure they ended the campaign with consolation silverware.
