Holywood clinched the NCU Women’s Premiership title in emphatic fashion as their tenth successive league victory came with a crushing 102-run win over CSNI.

Madison Landsman produced another magnificent captain’s innings, smashing 123 from just 62 balls with 18 fours and seven sixes as Holywood piled up 212 for one from their 20 overs.

Remarkably, it was Landsman’s fifth century of the season, taking her remarkable league tally to 903 runs at an average of 100.33.

Landsman and Erin Bond effectively batted CSNI out of the contest with an opening stand of 164, Bond providing excellent support with an unbeaten 43 from 40 deliveries.

When Landsman finally fell to Hannah Gordon, Nina Kerr maintained the momentum with an unbeaten 19 as Holywood posted a formidable total.

CSNI never seriously threatened the target despite Gordon’s 39 from 28 balls, which included seven fours.

Jemma Gillan made 11 and Rachael Thomas 10, but once Gordon departed with the score on 79, the innings collapsed spectacularly.

CSNI lost six wickets for just three runs as Holywood ruthlessly closed in on the championship.

Lucie McNaught was the chief destroyer, claiming four for 11, while Landsman completed a superb all-round performance with two wickets. Nina Kerr and Alexis MacDonald also took two apiece as CSNI were dismissed for 110.

It was a fitting way for Holywood to secure the title after a dominant campaign, with ten consecutive league victories and Landsman’s extraordinary season providing the defining features of their championship triumph.
