BREADY LATE RUN ENSURES PREMIERSHIP STATUS
Bready’s early-season form may have caused a few anxious glances around Magheramason, but the senior side found their feet in good time to pull comfortably clear of the relegation dogfight and finish the campaign on a much firmer footing.

By Bready’s own standards it was hardly a vintage year, with no senior men’s silverware to show for their efforts, but there were still plenty of positives — not least the performances of Kenzie Hall. Their signing from Killyclooney was unquestionably the standout with the bat, piling up 702 runs at an average of 39. His highest score was 141 and he also contributed 16 wickets with the ball, underlining his value as one of the side’s key all-rounders.
Professional Josh Van Heerden was another major success, scoring 592 runs at 45.54 from just 13 innings. His tally included a century and five fifties. David Rankin added 345 runs, while David Scanlon enjoyed a strong all-round season with 243 runs at a strike rate of 110.5 and, crucially, led the bowling with 26 wickets at 18.
Nathan McCombe also made a major contribution with the ball, taking 19 wickets, including a superb seven for 41, while Charlie Downey claimed 18 and Hall 16.
The encouraging aspect for Bready is that, despite a slow start and a season without senior honours, the club remained competitive, and, like their fellow Tyrone clubs, the broader picture was considerably brighter.
There was silverware elsewhere at Magheramason, with the women’s and youth sections enjoying notable success. That matters enormously for a club of Bready’s stature, keeping the place vibrant, competitive and full of momentum.
