Pembroke complete extraordinary clean sweep with five-trophy season
Pembroke produced a season for the ages in 2026 as the Sydney Parade side swept all before them, winning all five trophies for which they competed and completing a remarkable campaign with two All-Ireland titles among their haul.

It was a year defined by depth, consistency and an ability to find match-winners throughout the squad. Even when international commitments deprived them of some of their biggest names, Pembroke continued to deliver, with younger players and fringe members stepping up when required.
Overseas professional Addison Sherriff was at the heart of their success. He finished as the club’s leading run-scorer with 987 at an average of 49.35, hitting nine half-centuries and a century, while also taking 41 wickets at just 14.34. Few players anywhere in Irish club cricket could match that all-round contribution.
Jonathan Garth was another pillar of the batting, compiling 771 runs at 40.58, including six fifties and a century, while Tim Tector added 524 runs and skipper Jack Tector 448.
When available, Harry Tector underlined his international pedigree with 390 runs in only seven innings at an average of 65, passing fifty five times. Gavin Hoey, Sanil Gupta and Danny Hogan also made significant contributions, illustrating the batting depth at Pembroke’s disposal.

The bowling figures were equally impressive. Newly capped Byron McDonough topped the wicket charts with 43 at an outstanding average of 15.77, while Sherriff and Paul Lawson both claimed 41. Lawson’s 41 wickets came at 19.63, giving Pembroke three bowlers with more than 40 wickets across the season.
Gavin Hoey and Olly Riley took 17 apiece, Joe Prendergast claimed 16 and Daniel Murray added 12, ensuring captain Jack Tector was rarely short of options.
That strength in numbers was crucial across a long campaign in which Pembroke were competing on several fronts simultaneously. What made the achievement particularly impressive was that success never became dependent on one combination or one group of established names. International absences might have derailed another side, but Pembroke repeatedly found replacements capable of making decisive contributions.

Five trophies from five competitions represents an extraordinary return and one unlikely to be matched for a long time. For Pembroke, 2026 will be remembered not simply as a successful season, but as the finest in the club’s history — a clean sweep that confirmed the Sydney Parade side as the dominant force in Irish club cricket.
