The Hills snap up New Zealand U19 international Tewatiya for Premiership return
THE HILLS have moved quickly to strengthen their squad ahead of their return to the Leinster Premiership, announcing the signing of New Zealand Under-19 international Oliver Tewatiya as their overseas professional for the 2027 season.

The Milverton side secured promotion back to the top flight after winning the First Team League this summer and have wasted little time preparing for the increased challenges that await them.
Tewatiya, who turned 21 this week, arrives with an impressive pedigree, having represented New Zealand at the 2024 Under-19 World Cup in South Africa.
Born in New Delhi, the talented all-rounder is a left-handed batter and slow left-arm orthodox spinner who has progressed through the Wellington cricket system. He has represented Wellington at Under-17 and Under-19 level, while also gaining valuable experience in Wellington Premier Cricket and with Wellington A.
Interestingly, Tewatiya was part of the New Zealand side that faced Ireland at the 2024 Under-19 World Cup in Bloemfontein, returning figures of none for 25. He also featured against India, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Nepal during the tournament, gaining valuable experience against some of the world's leading emerging talents.
The Hills believe his all-round qualities will prove a significant asset as they look to establish themselves once again among Leinster's elite.
"We're delighted to announce the signing of Oliver Tewatiya, who will join The Hills Cricket Club as our overseas professional for the 2027 season," said the club.
"Oliver is a dynamic batting all-rounder who arrives from New Zealand with an impressive CV, having represented New Zealand at the U19 World Cup as well as Wellington U17s, U19s, Wellington Premier Cricket and Wellington A. We're excited to welcome Oliver to The Hills and look forward to seeing him in action at The Vineyard next season!"
Having successfully negotiated their way back into the Premiership, The Hills will hope their new overseas recruit can provide the quality and consistency needed to make an impact at the higher level.
