The last remaining questions at this T20 World Cup - namely which teams qualify for the Super 8s and get automatic entry in the 2028 tournament - have both been answered today after a comprehensive win for Pakistan over Namibia.

Batting first in Colombo and needing a win to secure their place in the Super 8s, Pakistan scored 199-3 with Sahibzada Farhan clubbing an unbeaten 100 from 58 balls. Contributions also came from captain Salman Agha (38) and Shadab Khan (36 not out).

Only two Namibian batters - Louren Steenkamp and Alexander Busing-Volschenk - were able to reach double figures in the Namibian reply as they wilted at the hands of Pakistan's spinners. Off-spinner Usman Tariq took four wickets for just 13 runs whilst Shadab Khan took 3-19 with his leg breaks.

Pakistan thus qualify for the Super 8s but the other beneficiaries are Ireland who - despite yet another disappointing World Cup campaign - will get automatic entry to the next. Had Pakistan failed to reach the Super 8s, Ireland would have dropped back to the European qualifier.
