Challenge League B continued in Hong Kong yesterday with Uganda and Italy recording wins over Bahrain and Tanzania respectively.
Bahrain captain Ahmer Bin Nasir won the toss at the Mission Road ground and asked Uganda to bat first. After losing opener Shrideep Mangela in the eighth over, Robinson Obuya and Raghav Dhawan added 63 for the second wicket for the Ugandans.
That partnership ended when Obuya was run out for 43, with Kenneth Waiswa dismissed soon afterwards. Dhawan and captain Riazat Ali Shah added 107 for the fourth wicket, the partnership ending when Dhawan was dismissed for 85. Shah was removed in the next over, bowled by Asif Ali for 49.
The final total for Uganda was 249-9. Imran Khan was the pick of the Bahrain bowlers with 3-46.
In reply, Bahrain lost both openers cheaply, with number four Shahbaz Badar also removed early on, the first three wickets all falling to Juma Miyagi. Asif Ali and Sohail Ahmed then looked to have got their team back into the game with a 114 run partnership for the fourth wicket.
That partnership ended when Asif Ali was dismissed for 83, and that was pretty much the end of the Bahrain run chase. They lost their last seven wickets for 62 runs as they went from 135-3 to 197 all out. Sohail Ahmed's 43 was their only other score of note. Juma Miyagi took one more wicket to finish with 4-53 and secure the 52 run win.
Over at the Kowloon Cricket Club, the strong Italian side had a much easier time of things against Tanzania. After Italian captain Marcus Campopiano won the toss and asked his opponents to bat first, Tanzania were bundled out for just 94. Grant Stewart took 3-28, Crishan Kalugamage took 3-17 and player-coach Gareth Berg went for just two runs in five overs, also taking two wickets.

The target was little trouble for Italy and they raced to an eight wicket victory in 13.5 overs, captain Campopiano scoring an unbeaten 44.
Today is a rest day in Hong Kong and when play resumes tomorrow, Italy will take on Singapore whilst hosts Hong Kong are back in action, playing Bahrain.
