Nepal played host to Netherlands and Thailand for a women's T20I tri-series this past week, with Thailand showing why they're still considered the best women's team in the associate world with a mostly straightforward win.

The series started on 30th January with Netherlands beating the hosts by 20 runs thanks to an unbeaten 59 by Robine Rijke. It continued the next day with Thailand beating the Dutch by eight wickets with Nannapat Koncharoenkai scoring 56 not out from 50 balls.

Thailand almost stumbled in the third match last Saturday with a four wicket win with one over to spare, Koncharoenkai again top scoring with an unbeaten 60 from 58 balls. The fourth game on Sunday saw a remarkable spell of bowling from Nepal's Sita Rana Magar as she took the last five Dutch wickets to fall as they collapsed from 132-4 to 138-9 in the last three overs, finishing on 140-9. The Nepali batters couldn't back her up though as they were kept to 125-8, losing by 15 runs.

On Monday, Thailand were bowled out for 86 by the Netherlands, but still managed to win by bowling their opponents out for just 69 to win by 15 runs. They followed this the next day with a narrow five run win over hosts Nepal. The Netherlands then recored a dominant win over the hosts on Wednesday, chasing down a target of 146 without loss, Sterre Kalis scoring 98 from 69 balls.

Thailand's first loss came on Thursday when the Netherlands won a last ball thriller by one wicket, chasing down Thailand's 109-5. Thailand bounced back immediately the next day in the final match of the tri-series, beating Nepal by seven wickets to secure the tournament.
