After Austria's win in the T20I tri-series in Malta that also involved Hungary, the teams met again in the T10 format, with six round-robin matches and a final taking place over the last two days at the Marsa Sport Club.

Despite their victory in the T20 format, Austria finished bottom of the standings in the shorter format with only one win from their four matches. Austria topped the table with three wins, with hosts Malta joining them in the final with two wins.

The final saw the home side win the toss and ask Hungary to bat first. They likely regretted it when Hungarian captain Ximus du Plooy went on a rampage, bringing up his century from just 32 balls and finishing the innings unbeaten on 123 from 37 balls as his team made 174-3.

The hosts were then kept to 153-7 from their ten overs, losing by 21 runs. Rockey Dianish top scored with 47 and Affy Khan contributed an unbeaten 36.
